Tata Steel will set up an integrated steel plant in Vietnam under joint venture with Vietnam’s biggest steel producer Vietnam Steel Corporation. It is said that Tata Steel will have at least 65% stake in the project and balance 35% will be held by Vietnam Steel Corporation. The project of building an integrated steel plant will be executed within a span of ten years (in three phases).
Tata Steel is already doing business in South East Asia in NatSteel, Singapore. Tata Steel has already invested some $120 million in Thailand which in the year 2009-10. The fund will be used to install a mini blast furnace in Thailand.
